VCP wins national award for team support

3/11/2026

Vincentian Care Plus (VCP) is proud to announce that we have won “Best for Team Support" (IT and Technology, Productivity etc.) at the Home Care Awards 2026. This national recognition celebrates the work we have done to support the people at the heart of our organisation - our carers and staff. At VCP, we believe exceptional care begins long before a carer arrives at someone’s door. It starts with how an organisation values, equips and supports the people delivering that care.

Building a Culture Where Staff Thrive
Guided by Vincentian values of dignity, compassion and service, we have built a workplace where staff feel listened to, respected and supported. In a sector often challenged by workforce pressures, our focus has been on creating stability, strong communication and meaningful wellbeing support.

Our outcomes reflect this commitment:
  • Under 1% late visits across more than 3,000 care visits each week
  • Zero missed calls and zero package refusals since April 2025
  • 97.2% ECM compliance, significantly above the borough target of 85%
  • A fully paperless digital care system improving communication and consistency
  • A locality-based staffing model - reducing travel time and staff stress

These results are not isolated achievements — they are the result of a deeply integrated approach to supporting our workforce.

Supporting the Whole Person Behind the Uniform
At VCP, staff wellbeing is embedded into everyday practice. We support the whole person behind the uniform through:
  • Emotional debriefs following difficult cases
  • Culturally aware supervision and inclusive leadership
  • Celebrations of identity, culture and faith
  • Transparent communication and an open-door ethos
  • Real-time operational support to manage workloads
Our scheduling approach also protects staff wellbeing, with 80% of schedules planned and 20% contingency capacity built in to support sickness, emergencies and unexpected demand. This approach has helped us achieve strong staff retention and a confident, supported workforce.
Technology That Supports Staff
A key part of our award-winning approach is our digital support infrastructure, led by Fenil Modi, IT Systems Support Administrator.

Fenil works closely with staff to ensure that technology becomes a source of confidence rather than stress. His patient, hands-on support helps carers build digital confidence and feel comfortable using new systems.
Through our OneTouch paperless care system, carers can access:
  • Policies and procedures
  • Training materials
  • Wellbeing updates
  • Operational alerts
  • Best-practice guidance

We also use SentriKey digital key-management technology, which provides secure, traceable property access and removes the need for physical key exchanges. This improves both safety and efficiency for staff and the people we support.

Strengthening the Circle of Care
Our digital approach also supports families. Through the OneTouch Family App, authorised relatives can receive real-time updates about their loved one’s care, including visit times, completed tasks and wellbeing notes.
This transparency strengthens trust, improves communication and reduces pressure on staff by ensuring everyone involved in the care journey stays informed.

Local Care, Stronger Connections
Our patch-based care model is another key part of how we support staff and service users. By dividing neighbourhoods into smaller care patches, we ensure carers work close to home, reducing travel fatigue and allowing stronger relationships with the people they support. Around 70% of our workforce lives locally, helping build trusted, familiar connections within the community.
A Commitment to Continuous Improvement
Reflecting on the award, VCP’s Quality & Compliance Manager Nashandé said: “Winning this award is something we are incredibly proud of, but for us it is not the finish line. Our submission reflects the work we have done to build a supportive environment for our staff, but we know there is always more we can do. At Vincentian Care Plus we are committed to continually improving quality, strengthening our systems and listening to the voices of our staff and the people we support. This recognition encourages us to keep learning, evolving and raising the standard of care every day.”

Looking Ahead
Winning the Home Care Award for Best Team Support is a wonderful milestone for Vincentian Care Plus, but our focus remains firmly on the future. By continuing to invest in our people, strengthen our systems and support our workforce, we can ensure the people and families we serve receive the highest quality, compassionate care possible. Most importantly, this award belongs to our incredible staff — whose dedication, compassion and professionalism make everything we do possible.
