We're a finalist in the Home Care Awards!

1/27/2025

Vincentian Care Plus has been chosen as a finalist in the Home Care Awards 2025!

The recognition - in the Specialist Care Expertise category – centres around VCP’s impactful Healthy4Longer project.

It’s an initiative we are proud to be piloting, built around a chair-based exercise programme designed to support our service users in improving mobility, strength, and overall wellbeing, helping them to stay active and independent for longer.

Focused on reducing falls and hospitalisations, the initiative empowers service users to thrive in their own homes.

Already the impact is becoming clear.

Analysis of key medical and wellbeing indicators taken after the first two months of the project running, showed those service users who participated experienced zero incidents of falls, zero calls to their GP or 111, and zero visits to A&E.
It also showed their overall wellbeing - encompassing both physical and mental health - has been positively impacted, potentially contributing to improved cognitive function.

“It’s an initiative we’re really proud to be piloting,” Cathy Naigow, VCP’s CEO & Registered Manager said.

“The programme has been particularly impactful for older adults and those with limited mobility, providing them with a tailored approach to physical activity that fits their needs.

“Healthy4Longer embodies VCP’s mission of proactive, person-centred care, creating brighter futures for our service users and reflecting our commitment to enhancing wellbeing, independence, and dignity for those we serve.”

At the core of Healthy4Longer is a structured, progressive series of chair-based exercises delivered in-home, complemented by holistic support for sustainable healthy habits.

These include: integrating movement into everyday life, easy-to-implement tips for improving nutrient and protein intake, encouraging hydration for better overall health, and techniques to enhance sleep quality.

VCP was honoured to win a High Commendation at the Home Care Awards 2024 – for our work supporting people affected by homelessness at Edward Alsop Court in the London Borough of Westminster, where we are part of an integrated approach to support some of the most vulnerable people in society.

“We pour our hearts and souls into our work and it was an honour to be highly commended at such a prestigious event,” Cathy added.

“It was more than recognition, it was validation of our commitment to providing exceptional care to those in need, and we are beyond excited to be nominated again this year for an initiative which is already having such a profound impact.”

The winners will be announced at the 2025 Home Care Awards Ceremony, happening on 7th March!

Spreading joy and warmth at Christmas

1/14/2025

With the unwavering commitment of our incredible team, we hand-delivered 115 meals to our service users just before Christmas. But these were not just meals. Each delivery was packed with so much more than food - there was love, warmth, and the knowledge that someone truly cared.

Alongside the meals, we included desserts, bottles of non-alcoholic bubbly, and festive socks to keep toes warm and hearts lighter. Each package was thoughtfully prepared, hand-delivered, and accompanied by warm smiles and a genuine sense of community.
Nashande, our Quality & Compliance Manager, tells us more:

"I am fortunate to witness the incredible ways our team comes together to make a difference in our community. This festive season was no exception, as we embarked on a heartfelt mission to deliver warmth, joy, and nourishment to those serve.

Thanks to the generosity and support of Marks & Spencer and Sainsburys, who partnered with us to provide the meal orders, we were able to ensure that each meal was not only nourishing but also a true festive treat. Their contribution reminded us of the power of collaboration in making meaningful impacts in people’s lives.
Watching the team work together to ensure that every single delivery was made on time and with care was nothing short of inspiring. Everyone came together, giving their time and energy, ensuring every delivery was made with care, attention, and festive spirit. The team’s determination to spread joy reminded me of just how lucky I am to work alongside such extraordinary people.

The joy on the faces of our service users as they received their meals and gifts was a poignant reminder of why we do what we do. For many, this festive touch was more than just a meal - it was a moment of connection, care, and the feeling that someone is thinking of them during this season of giving.

These moments are what this season is truly about. They reminded me, and all of us at VCP, that it doesn’t take grand gestures to make a profound impact - it’s about showing up, reaching out, and letting people know they matter.

As we reflect on another successful year of this initiative, I am filled with gratitude for our team and the privilege of serving our community. Together, we have not only delivered meals but also spread the true spirit of the season -kindness, compassion, and unity.

Here’s to continuing our mission of making a difference in the lives of those we serve, one thoughtful gesture at a time. From all of us at Vincentian Care Plus, thank you for letting us serve you and share in your lives.

May your 2025 be filled with love, warmth, and many moments of connection."
