Training Vincentian Care Plus provide a
three day intensive induction
programme for their Carers, e.g. practical care practice,
manual handling,and
backcare, basic first aid, fire safety, abuse awareness, food
hygiene and health and safety. This induction programme willcontinue
for
three months using the Skills for Care induction modules. New
carers will shadow experienced carers to ensure that they meet the same
high standards expected of the company.
Our carers are expected to enroll on NVQ 2 in Care courses. Because we provide this training free of charge most staff are willing to improve their skills and dedicate their time to achieving this valuable qualification. We hope that some of our Carers will be encouraged to undertake level 3 and hopefully level 4. in order that they may be considered for promotion should the occasion arise. And this in turn will provide continuity for the service users. During the coming year we hope to provide the following training to our staff:
