Do
you have a couple of hours a week to spare to befriend an
older person?
We're
looking for people who are friendly, reliable, a sense of humour and
sensitive to the needs of Older People. We'll
provide
initial and ongoing training and support.
What
will a Befriender do? They
will come and spend quality time with you. Together you will
decide what is best for you remember befrienders are not
carers….
What
do we offer?
Full
induction
and training, so no special knowledge is required, just an open mind
and some free time and some one who has a love for the older person
Regular
informal support meetings
Ongoing
training
The
satisfaction of making a difference.

much two-way – the service user gets practical help
which is
flexible and informal; Befrienders meet new, like-minded people, and
find
the training fun and informative and learn a lot. It's extremely
rewarding.'
